Fast Sunday is moved

The Stake Presidency has asked that Fast Sunday be on Easter, April 8th.
Therefore, next sacrament meeting (March 25th) will have talks as normal.
Due to General Conference, the testimony meeting will be moved forward (instead of back) to the 2nd week of April (April 8th).

See you on Sunday!

Sunday Lesson Recap

THIS SUNDAY is Fast Sunday
General Conference is the following Saturday and Sunday, the 31st and the 1st.

Below is a lesson summary from Sunday's lesson on sustaining church leaders - perfect timing for General Conference!

Consider to yourself ways that we can sustain our church leaders - how is it done?
-By seeking a testimony that they are called of God
-By being willing to listen to them (time)
-Heeding their counsel
-Praying for them
-keep the commandments
-Exercise your free agency and CHOOSE to support them!

In the world, leaders are chosen by the most qualified and most influential people. In the kingdom of the Lord, however, the Lord helps qualify those that he has called.

What our faith that our leaders have been called of God is strengthened as we do those things that they have asked of us (D&C 21:1-4)
Some sisters mentioned specific counsel from the 1st Presidency of the Church that has strengthened their testimonies:
-Doctrine of the Family
-Counsel to have an Attitude of Gratitude
-Debt Avoidance
**if you are seeking their counsel, read the Presidency Message found in our monthly Ensign and apply that counsel! Also, focus on counsel given in General Conference

How about the focus of our Stake Presidency? To have each member bring someone to church and focus on the Ward Mission Plan
General Relief Society Presidency? Do something Extraordinary!

Blessings are poured out upon us as we heed the counsel of our leaders. We find ourselves and our families happier, there is more unity among us, we find clarity on difficult issues, and we can grow personally in our testimonies.

Love you all -
The PU2 Relief Society Presidency

Below is the pasta salad recipe from the last activity that a lot of people were asking about.

Pasta Salad with Chicken and Sun-dried Tomatoes

1 pound pasta (I like Rigatoni) cooked, rinsed and drained well
¾ cup toasted pine nuts
¾ cup sun-dried tomatoes in oil (drained well)
4 or 5 green onions, chopped
2-3 cups chicken (I used seared chicken that we finished in the oven, you could use a rotisserie chicken from the store, or just grill some breasts)
Fresh Basil to taste (I usually use about 20 leaves)

Combine together pasta, pine nuts, sundried tomatoes, green onions and chicken.  Tear Basil and add in right before serving.

**To toast the pine nut; toast over low heat in a fry pan with no oil. Stir constantly.  Remove as soon as you see browning happen.

Dressing:
½ cup mayonnaise
½ cup canola oil
1/3 cup Seasoned vinegar or champagne vinegrette
1 Tbs. Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix
1/8 cup apple juice
1/8 cup water
salt
lots of fresh ground pepper

Combine all ingredients and pour over pasta salad.  Sometimes when I need more dressing I add ½ cup of champagne dressing.
