It is a common misconception that "Mormons aren't
Christians" -
How do we help people understand that we do believe
in Christ? How do we teach of Him?
-we can show it through the way that we live our lives and
treat others - it should be obvious to them that we love and believe in Him!
-Service to others (gifts at Christmas that actually have to
do with Christ!)
-Dont be afraid to mention church when you talk about the
weekend
-We need to know Him first!
-Don't be afraid to mention his name when you're in
conversation with others.
How do we bear a Christ-centered Testimony?
-No matter what principle we are testifying of, find a way
to relate it back to Him
-steer away from "Thank-a-thons" and focus on what
you know and believe
-live your life in such a way that all that you do is
centered around and relates back to the Savior
-When you have a prompting to share your testimony, just do
it!
-To testify of Him, we first need to know Him - do all you
can to do so, and your testimony of Him will flow naturally
So - what is it that we do know about Him? Some things we
discussed in class are:
His Divinity: He is the Firstborn and only Begotten of the
Father, He is perfect, he comes from humble origins here on earth, He is our
Savior
His Atonement: It is through him only that we can be saved,
He was willing to do so, it gives us hope and perspective, when understood it
can fill us with gratitude
The Restoration: It clarifies our understanding of Him,
through it the Priesthood was restored, and through it we can grow
closer to Him
